Client Story
Once upon a time…

We all know HGTV is kind of a hoax, right? Some magical contractor/designer team swoops in and completely transforms a home from top to bottom on a shoestring budget in just 2 weeks. Let’s be real, that’s impossible in real life…or is it?

Thanks to the super-team of our project manager Cleveland Motley, and some ah-mazing long-time clients, we recently had the chance to make the impossible possible

Picture a home in Bernal Heights: Dreamy details, great floor plan, huge backyard. But as a roommate rental for the past few years, also in need of a pretty major facelift.

This was a major Cinderella mission. The home was gorgeous but it needed big magic to get it ready for the ball. It all started with a full-blown paint job, inside and out. The yard (a huge asset in COVID times) was neglected and bare. The closet in the master suite was funky and a new one needed to be designed and built. The kitchen was remodeled but dated and due for a reboot. Some new light fixtures and a list of home repairs topped off the lenghty to-do list.

It had to look amazing, it had to come in on-budget, and it all had to be done in about 2.5 weeks! To add to the challenge, COVID safety requires that only one vendor at a time can work on the house. Whew!

Enter Cleveland, who worked day and night in partnership with our trusted painter, handyman, stager, and landscaper to pull it all off in record time and get the house on the market looking like the dream home it really is. Kudos to our clients for their quick decision-making. It was absolutely essential to the success of the project.

With a project like this, there are a million details to be managed, from where to spend and where to save, to color choices and age-old questions like: flooring first or paint first? Having a superstar project manager on the team means we can take it all off of our clients’ plates. Job well done, Cleveland! We’ll have more Real Estate Fairy Tales and some even better before/after shots to share in the next issue
