Property Tax Appeal Period Closing Soon (San Francisco)

Perhaps you feel your property has been unfairly assessed, or that your property value has decreased so that the previous assessed value is no longer accurate. In the event you'd like to appeal your tax bill, now is the time. 

In San Francisco you may request a tax reduction with the Property Tax Appeals Board until September 15, 2024. This is the deadline for Formal Appeals. 

Each year there are specific windows for filing appeals with the board, so paying attention to these dates is critical. You can find the online application form HERE, and more information and answers to most of your questions at the Appeals Board website HERE

You'll need to provide either comparable sales or an official appraisal to support the value you're proposing in your appeal. While appraisals are expensive, we can provide you with comparable sales at no cost. We are happy to assist! Contact us anytime.
